Who We Are
Our Vision
True Light Baptist Church is a Bible-based, Christ-centered, and Kingdom-focused church in Houston, Texas. We exist to glorify God and make disciples of Christ who Grow in the Word and Faith, and Serve Christ in the Church, Community and World.
Salvation
We desire to reach thousands in our city with the gospel of Jesus Christ, breaking the cycle of sin, and leading families to serve the True and Living God (Matthew 28:19-20; Colossians 1:13). Our goal is to lead boys and girls in coming to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, to serve Christ at an early age (Matthew 19:14), and to serve God all of the days of their lives.
Spiritual Growth
To strengthen each member to grow in their relationship with Christ through the Word of God (Acts 2:41-42; 2 Timothy 3:16). This is accomplished through preaching, teaching, and discipleship for all age levels.
Families
To lead men to become wise and godly leaders in their homes, churches, and communities, to be loving fathers to their children (2 Timothy 2:2; Luke 1:17 ). To strengthen women to be godly wives and mothers. To encourage single men and women to live godly lives, and to lead single parents as they lead their households (Proverbs 31:10-12). To challenge youth to be godly, outstanding young men and women (1 Timothy 4:12).
Marriage
To promote God’s idea of a godly, loving marriage (Hebrews 13:4). To teach husbands to love their wives and wives to respect their husbands. To lead them in developing a marriage that is a picture of Christ and the church.
Our History
True Light Baptist Church began as a mission church in November of 1995. Brother Kim Williams was sent from Grace Landmark M.B.C., in Memphis, Tennessee. The church was formed with the purpose of taking the gospel to the people of Houston, Texas. Following a plan of witnessing, discipleship, and outreach, the Church continues to reach out to the souls of the people in our ministry area.
Since we 1995 thousands of gospel tracts have been distributed. Thousands of souls have heard the gospel, and hundreds of people have made personal decisions for Christ; many believers have been baptized and added as members of the church.
